On the Time Traveling album, he is accompanied by Hrvoje Galler (piano, electric piano), Hrvoje Petek (bass) and Miha Vlah (drums). Together with Kapec, they managed to create a musical journey through a world where there is no time to lose. With the composition "Eight hours for all", Kapec and the team show the ease of playing, and the faster tempo of the composition has the atmosphere of newer electric works by Chick Corea, mostly on the album The Vigil. The atmosphere is slightly tense even in lighter compositions, and at no point does it bring a nice receptive pop melody, the formula that some people use to please the wider masses. It is also a great compliment to this album. "Children's dance" with its introduction, mostly drumming, introduces you to an anxious state, which is very quickly broken in the chorus with a more danceable and fluid rhythm.There are also funky rhythms on the album, as well as light psychedelia, and the song "Halley's View" will serve as an example. Perhaps the most interesting thing about the album is the use of loops and electronics, which gives a more modern sound, and thus a considerable departure from standard jazz patterns. This is a good thing, because with these departures, the album can be accessed by different generations of listeners, who at first might not even look at this album through jazz glasses. The song I would also highlight because of its lighter surf atmosphere is “Gurz”. At first, such an atmosphere in the song surprised me, but considering that Ivan worked on the soundtrack of the movie "Wintering in Rio", which also features Bambi Molesters, the story has an understandable background.Perhaps the most interesting thing about the album is the use of loops and electronics, which gives a more modern sound, and thus a considerable departure from standard jazz patterns. After listening to the album a few times, I very quickly got the impression that the songs were glued to each other and the music flowed freely, with little or no creative pauses. I would most easily describe it as one particularly beautiful journey, where you stop nowhere, but only slow down for a moment, catching curves. Of course, it would be expected that on such a trip you would encounter a few dangerous situations, where the quartet's music would go into a little freer free water. But there is no such thing on this journey, but the whole journey is positively idealized. Author's jazz in Croatia has long had the potential to go much further than this region of ours, and thus get the recognition it deserves. One of them is Ivan Kapec and his quartet Capisconne. Time Traveling is a mature record of musicians who know how to create music and its musical power is not in question at all. Given that jazz is on the margins of social and cultural events, it will be interesting to see to what extent those who listen to music will have the will to listen and thus recognize the quality of this album. Personally, I think he deserved a lot more attention, because apart from Matija Dedić, our other younger jazz musicians are not even close to popularity. Although I believe that it doesn't matter so much to them, it would be a shame to let quality jazz music pass us by. And with Matija, the popularity would be questionable, if it did not come from the surname of a well-known musical lineage, where he is better known as a character, while his musical works are less known. More reason to listen to Ivan Kapec, and apart from this album, you will have the opportunity to do so tomorrow, 23/10/2014, at the concert as part of jazz.hr/jesenfestival. Of course, all other masters who will perform at this festival, both domestic and European jazz forces. Tijekom nekoliko godina djelovanja, stekavši ugled na međunarodnoj glazbenoj sceni, sastav Capisconne je objavio razna diskografska izdanja na netu ili u fizičkom obliku. Na snimanju novog CD-a, Time Traveling, uz vođu sastava, gitarista Ivana Kapeca, svirali su klavirist Hrvoje Galler, basist Hrvoje Petek i bubnjar Miha Vlah, te oblikovatelj zvuka Hrvoje Nikšić kao gost. Njihov, kako ga sami zovu space-jazz, na tragu je novih kretanja na suvremenoj jazz sceni, blizak onom kojim su zaokupljeni mnogi skandinavski glazbenici koji se nadahnjuju fusionom Milesa Davisa, ali i suvremenim klupskim ritmovima. No, za razliku od mnogih sastava tog umjerenja, njegova glazba nije sterilna i monotona. Kapec je uvijek bio cool, a na ovom CD-u ta je njegova osobima ponajviše izražena. Naime, iako se iz ovih izvedbi osjeća da je potkovan u raznim stilovima i da prati zbivanja na suvremnoj glazbenoj sceni, on svoje skladbe - osam ih je napisao sam, a jednu u suradnji s Hrvojem Gallerom - zasniva na nježnim melodijama i stvaranju umirujućeg ugođaja, bez velikih dinamičkih raspona i ekstravagancija, pri čemu improvizacije ostaju u drugom planu.
