Otake Records is back. This time with Canadian artist @Frivolous ‚Release Paralysis‘ marks a long period of time since the last full ‚Frivolous‘ release - a creative drought, a veritable release paralysis.
Marred by illness, pandemic and disaster, this record is unapologetic in Daniel Gardner‘s portrayal of life looking upwards through the murky waters of rock-bottom.
Thick, dark and jagged striations of dreams stomped down into piles of discarded artifacts, sometimes accented by the fleeting chorus of human yearning, sometime forgot about altogether in moments of ignorant bliss.
In ‚Release Paralysis‘, the specific circumstances are not to be revealed, inasmuch the importance of recognizing that events occured and shaped an emotional state which is valid and inarguably human.
Creativity isn‘t always beautiful, although honesty usually is.
Perhaps now the paralysis can be released.
