Im Oktober 2000 kam es in Ghanas Hauptstadt Accra zu einem einzigartigen Konzert: Der ranghöchste Trommler von Ghana, The Divine Drummer Ghanaba, traf auf die amerikanisch-deutsche Schlagzeugerin Robyn Schulkowsky. Afrikanische und westliche Musik, schamanische Tradition und experimentelle Moderne fanden zueinander und nahmen den Dialog miteinander auf. Der Film ist das Dokument dieses Konzertes, das im Rahmen eines Filmporträts über Ghanaba (Der göttliche Trommler) zu Stande kam und hier in voller Länge und mit einem einführenden Kapitel in Echtzeit zu erleben ist.
