A rare jazz nugget from the late 60s – a pretty great trio set by the Joel Zelnik Trio – an American combo, but one with a groove that's every bit as hip as some of the best European piano groups of the time! Zelnik plays the lead instrument, but the album's definitely a strong three-sided affair – with the participation of bass and drums as important to the overall groove as you'd get on some of the best bossa trio sessions of the 60s! In fact, there also seems to be some of the best Brazilian trio dynamism going on here – even though the sound is strongly American overall – and other group members include Harold Slapin on bass and Dave Rose on drums and arrangements.
