Software / Treatment /Tagging
This is what I do in general. Not every step is done for all my rips – otherwise as mentioned below:
Clickrepair
Light de-Clicking, significant clicks/anomalies manually removing
De-Noising: no
@ Level: 4 / 0% auto / various settings
DeCrackle: off
Pitch Protection: on
Reverse: on
Method: Simple
Clickrepair / iZotope RX Advanced
Lead in, Lead out, gap between the tracks – no signal @ level: 100 – 100% auto: always (not in live recordings!)
heavy clicks / anomalies ( mark the region, copy in a new (iZotope RX Advanced) file. Open in Clickrepair (every option off) and let it run until the click/part and repair/removing manually (Clickrepair is able to calculate the possible groove running, try out how it most fits …)
iZotope RX Advanced
manual click/anomalies removal – very carefully (if necessary) / various settings
split into individual tracks
FLAC
dbPowerAmp: Level 5 (default)
Tagging/DR-Log
MP3tag: Yes (incl. individual Tags)
Discogs Tagging via FOOBAR2000 (where available)
DR-Log: via FOOBAR2000 (using the 24-bit/96khz cleaned wave files)
Artwork
Canon EOS 1100D – Digital Camera
PSP 9.0 – Preparation
That’s all; no any other treatments!
Please note, sometimes less is more!
Please burn gapless to match original tracklayout.
Record shape
Side A Ex – NM
Side B Ex – NM
Note! The LP conditions are in very good conditions – see above! I try to do my very best to clean it from every click(s) and anomalies, that’s for sure. My aim is to use clickrepair on a very low level. My own experience has shown me if the “Clickrepair-Level” is too high (over 15), it can be happen that you lose music signals, especially at acoustic guitar music and/or also at hard electronic signals.Sometimes less is more!
