The Parlotones - это четверка белых африканских ребят, музыка которых звучит так, словно они взросли не на прериях Южной Африки, а где-то по соседству с The Killers в Гринвич Виллидж. Несмотря на влияние все тех же The Killers, у группы есть свой фирменный стиль, который грозит со временем затмить ранних героев инди-рока.
The Parlotones начали свою карьеру в 2006, играя в ночных клубах при пяти, шести зрителях, но уже к 2008 году их диск «Radiocontrolledrobot» стал платиновым в Южной Африке. В поддержку успешной пластинки они дали более 400 концертов по Америке, Европе и Африке и выступили на различных фестивалях .
