Об исполнителе
Steve Bedi is the ace saxophonist on the music scene in Ghana and one of the finest this country has ever produced. A subtle blend of soul, swing, traditional Ghanaian and African sounds fused with the jazz style of Steve Bedi's saxophone playing, is a welcome and refreshing contribution to the Ghanaian music.
However, through the added weight and depth of traditional African rhythms and percussion, he has created the appropriately titled "Syncos Jazz" FIRST CLASS. Steve Bedi; born in Sunyani but hails from the Volta region of Ghana West Africa.
He is the last of nine(9) children has been playing the saxophone for 14years and appeared on many platforms as far as music is concerned and has performed with the legendary Hugh Masekela, Sonti Ndebele, Gina West (A songstress from the UK), etc...
On the local front, Steve had the opportunity to perform with almost all the top music stars like Kojo Antwi, Rex Omar, Amandzeba, Gyadu Blay Amboolley, Ben Brako, Bessa Simons, Paulina Oduro among others as well as in the Gospel music circles Stella Aba Seal, Amy Newman, Josh Laryea, Suzy & Matt, Francis Adjei and others. He also worked and perfomed with Hiplife artistes like Ofori Amponsah, Kwabena Kwabena, Batman Samini, Tictac, Okyeame Quame, Nana Kontihene Becca and others.
Steve is well-known for his smooth, passionate and tactical ability in playing the saxophone and that made him loved by many. He has featured on many music albums both on the circular and gospel music scene and some of his works on hit songs like Kotosa (Wutah), Gyegyeme su (Awura Esi) among others has become a trade mark for Ghanaian hiplife and gospel music in recent times which made him more popular on the scene as well as the sax version of Nana Boro's "Aha Ye De". He has been on other international platforms like "Joy of Jazz" festival (South Africa), "Les Escales" music festival (France), "Ballanta" music festival (Sierra Leone) and other parts of Europe.
Steve is just not an outstanding saxophone player but also a good entertainer and he exhibited that when he performed live on the "Dream Child" Concert which also marked the launch of his maiden SINGLE from his contemporary African Jazz music album "Sycos Jazz" at the National Theatre. He also shared stage with the Ivorian music icon Fredie Meiway on Miss Ghana 2010 and "OSIBISA" at +233 in Accra. Watching the young saxophonist perform live is one thing you can't afford to miss anytime because his skills, attitude, energy and charisma makes his performances full of fun... (scratchstudios.org)
