“Nothing good ever comes out of the city of Compton” was the phrase frequently quoted to Marty on a consistent basis. And by the time Marty realized the reputation his hometown had he was in his early teens. Ignoring the negative news and everything bad he was hearing about the local gang wars, he stayed focused on his love for music studying, composing, and arranging music while playing the guitar.
Now, the composer/ guitarist has proven that good things do come out of Compton with a jazz album that was composed, arranged, published, produced, and recorded in Compton —-Groovin 101. This is the second album produced by Marty.
