Part of the generation that has given us artists like Robert Cray, Joe Louis Walker, Mem Shannon and Larry McCray, this man Larry Garner writes thought provoking songs that we today in 2009 can relate to. If you find you can't relate to the 'downhome-ness" of Robert Johnson then Larry Garner will definitely bring you up to date as he mentions issues that we all face in the 21st century. I would say he is an artist who is best seen live but for those unfortunates who can't then his CDs are a fine alternative. The title track hits home. Very true words that most should heed. The guitar work is great but very economical...Larry tastefully uses his guitar to embellish the song not the other way around. No song is just an excuse for a ten minute guitar solo. Watch out for Sonny Landreths phenomenal slide solo on the track "Rats & Roaches In My Kitchen", one of the best slide solos ever done in history! The song is one written by Blues legend Silas Hogan, a man who appears to have influenced Garner alot. Don't Run Talking" a song about idle gossip is so factual. i'm sure most of us have experienced what Larry sings about. Every track will educate you because Larry Garner is a poet of the Blues. You won't be dissapointed if you get this one.
