Labyrinth is the next step in my progression, but not just a step, a stomp. a huge rumbling Godzilla kinda stomp. I know its been a minute since I put anything out so I made sure it was something worth waiting for. I’ll leave it up to you to decide if I succeeded. ... The title of the EP, Labyrinth, is a reference to the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. I grew up playing a lot of D&D, and I was a bit of a myth geek so don’t feel bad if you’ve never heard of it. Its an old myth about the hero Theseus who enters a huge complicated maze – the labyrinth. At the center of the labyrinth is the Minotaur, a monster that is half-man and half-bull. Theseus must get to the center of the maze, defeat the Minotaur, and get back out alive.

Fun, danceable music that has a deeper meaning- it’s like glitch hop for grownups. What I like best is that the EP never gets too serious about itself. Labyrinth doesn’t get all emo’d out just to convince you that it has meaning. It bangs it into your head.
The slender, stepping intro track “Mono” births the album, grabbing you and carrying you along like a knapsack as it sets off heartily on an unknown quest with “No Comply.”
“Let Go” featuring rapper Juice Aleem is the most boisterous track on the album – like the wild party the night before the hero must go “Into the Labyrinth” for some serious, soul-fighting business. The EP closes with “Minotaur,” leaving us with an unfinished tale, as the hero is in the thick of grappling with the monsters of the labyrinth. How things will ultimately turn out isn’t completely sewn up by the end of the EP.
No doubt Kraddy has seen some struggles since last summer when he still part of the Glitch Mob. I feel that anyone who hears this new EP will have no further questions about the split, as the two production sounds have gone in very different directions. Call him a rogue, call him Ice Cube, but don’t call it a comeback – because this sound never ever left our hearts.
Like the album that leaves us fighting with the Minotaur, Kraddy’s story isn’t over either, but I think we all know how the tale of the hero ends: with redemption.
