This was supposed to be Garner's follow-up album to his breakthrough third album, You Need to Live a Little, released in 1994. Due to contract problems, however, it never saw an American release until 1999. Like its predecessor, Garner's brand of blues moves between Excello swamp blues and more soulful, contemporary styles with a strong songwriting sense ingrained in all of it. A solid band, including Larry McCray on guitar and Willie Weeks on bass, drives this session right along. Highlights include "Jook Joint Woman," "The Road of Life," "Airline Blues," "The Have and the Have Nots," and "Go to Baton Rouge." A lost little classic.

Случайно наткнулась на этого блюзмена, просматривая Dianna Mestman на ютьюбе. Его уровень заметно превосходил большинство остальных музыкантов, размещённых на этом канале. Не ожидала, что у него столько альбомов.

Ещё там же зацепил недурственно поющий Marty Abdullah, как выяснилось позже - лидер вокалист Soulard Blues Band
ps Не знаю, случайно так вышло, или было задумано изначально, High on Music перекликается с Serious Л. Аллисона (фразировкой и интонацией) и в то же время вызывает аллюзии на Б. Марли, в частности на trenchtown rock.
